World Book Day Celebration – “Far, Far Away” Theme
On Friday, our school was transformed into a world of imagination as staff and pupils came dressed as their favourite characters for World Book Day. Following this year’s magical theme, “Far, Far Away,” classrooms and corridors filled with fairy‑tale heroes, storybook villains, enchanted creatures, and adventurers from distant lands.
We began the day with a special whole‑school assembly, where everyone had the chance to show off their costumes and celebrate the joy of reading. Pupils shared their favourite books, teachers introduced stories linked to their characters, and we reflected on how reading can transport us to new and exciting places—real or fantastical.
After assembly, classes took part in a variety of World Book Day activities, including themed crafts, storytelling sessions, book-inspired challenges, and creative writing tasks. Throughout the day, there was a wonderful buzz of excitement as everyone immersed themselves in stories from “far, far away.”
It was a truly memorable celebration, filled with creativity, colour, and a shared love of reading.
