Titanic Experience 🚢

28th Apr 2026

Our P4–7 pupils had an unforgettable trip to the Titanic Visitor Centre in Belfast! 🚢

This visit linked perfectly with our World Around Us topics — P6/7 have been exploring The Titanic, while P4/5 have been learning about Landmarks. It was a brilliant day filled with fun, discovery, and hands-on learning about an important part of our local history.

We began the day with a Solve the Case problem-solving workshop, where the children examined suitcases and personal belongings to work out who they belonged to, before discovering the passengers’ fate on that awful night.

The children also explored the story of the Titanic, discovered the history of shipbuilding, and experienced what life was like in the early 1900s, all while visiting one of Belfast’s most famous landmarks. A highlight of the day was the immersive experience ride, which took us through the history of shipbuilding in a fun and engaging way. We finished the day onboard the only remaining Whitestar Line Vessel in existence today, the Ss Nomadic. The children were amazed that they were on the same ship which carried passengers to the Titanic and had many similar features.

Our pupils were fantastic ambassadors for the school — a number of staff and members of the public commented on their excellent behaviour throughout the visit.

A fantastic day out that truly brought our classroom learning to life! 🌟
