Today was a deliciously fun and busy day at school as we turned the dinner hall into a pancake kitchen. We made pancakes in the different classes together, carefully measuring, mixing and watching the batter transform as it cooked. The children were fully engaged, talking about the ingredients and eagerly waiting on their turn to help or add topping to the freshly made pancakes. This hands on activity led perfectly into their sequence and writing work, where we talked about the instructions and the importance of doing things in sequence. Primary 1/2 also took a creative twist sharing and writing about the story “The runaway pancake “.
