Leavers day 2026
💚🎓 Wow, what a day! 🎓💚
Today we celebrated our wonderful Primary 7 Class of 2026 and what a special day it was from start to finish.
We began the morning with a lovely brunch with our P7 parents and families before gathering for a heartfelt Leavers' Assembly. Mrs McMullan took everyone on a trip down memory lane, reflecting on years of happy memories, achievements and special moments. Our P7 pupils also shared a beautiful poem, reminding us just how much they have grown during their time at St Malachy's.
The celebrations continued outdoors in the sunshine with our whole-school Prize Giving, recognising the many talents and achievements of our pupils. We then joined together to sing our very own school song accompanied by Miss Moore– a moment that brought plenty of tears, both happy and sad, as we realised it was almost time to say goodbye to our amazing P7s.
One of the most emotional moments of the day was our Guard of Honour, where the entire school lined up to show their appreciation and wish our leavers well as they prepare for their next adventure.
The afternoon ended in true St Malachy's style, with plenty of fun and laughter thanks to our fantastic PTA. The children enjoyed bouncy castles, pizza from Domino's and chips from Ralph's Downpatrick, making for the perfect end to a memorable day. Yesterday's ice cream treat was also a huge hit!
A huge thank you to all our families for your continued support and for trusting us with your precious children over the years. It has been a privilege to watch them learn, grow and flourish.
Thank you also to all our staff for their hard work in preparing such a special celebration, and to our incredible PTA for their generosity in providing the bouncy castles, lunch and ice cream treats. A special thanks also to Ella’s Nanna Pat for the yummy cupcakes for our P7s. We also can not forget our talented content creator for her amazing work all year- Sarah 😃
To our Primary 7 leavers – Ella, Isabella, Sophie, Danny and Alina – we are so proud of each and every one of you. Wherever the future takes you, remember that you will always be part of the St Malachy's family. 💚🍀
Good luck, Class of 2026. The future is bright! ✨😎🎓
