Hurling with Fergal

15th Jun 2026

The pupils made the most of the beautiful afternoon sunshine as they headed outside with Fergal to develop their hurling skills. The session began with a strong focus on the fundamentals, as the children practiced their tackling techniques, working on timing, control and confidence in a supportive environment. They then moved on to striking drills, where they focused on improving their accuracy and power, followed by scoring practice to build their precision when aiming for the target.

With skills sharpened and energy high, the session finished with small-sided mini games. These allowed the pupils to put everything they had learned into action, encouraging teamwork, quick decision-making and lots of enthusiasm. It was fantastic to see such great effort, sportsmanship and enjoyment throughout the afternoon.
